ROYAL PALM BEACH, FLORIDA — September 12, 2026

Certified Security Systems, a locally owned security camera and alarm company serving South Florida, has donated $1,000 to Western Academy Charter School in Royal Palm Beach — a school with roots that run through three generations of one of the company's own founding families.

The donation was presented by Operations Manager Wendy Crown, who spent more than 20 years in education, including years teaching at Western Academy and later serving as its Assistant Principal, before retiring in 2024 to join her husband, Evan, in growing Certified Security Systems.

For Crown, Western Academy Charter School isn't just a name on a donation check. It's where she built a career as a teacher and Assistant Principal, where her daughter now teaches, and where her own grandchildren attend school today. That personal history made the school an easy choice when Certified Security Systems began looking for ways to give back to the Royal Palm Beach community it serves.

The $1,000 gift supports the school's students, teachers, and programs, and reflects a company built by people who see their business as part of, not separate from, the community around it.

The donation also ties directly into Certified Security Systems' own mission of education. The company recently launched a Homeowner Security Education Initiative, offering free guides, video tutorials, and an interactive CCTV planning tool to help South Florida homeowners and business owners make informed security decisions — before, during, and after installation.

"Whether it's a child's education or a family's security, good decisions start with good information," Crown said. "Supporting Western Academy and educating our customers come from the exact same place for us."

The company says the Western Academy donation is the first in what it hopes will be an ongoing commitment to local schools and community organizations throughout its Royal Palm Beach service area.
